Charlotte’s WJZY and WMYT sponsored the Howl-o-fest Boo Blast at Carowinds which entertained thousands of kids of all ages during October. The family friendly event featured pumpkin decorating, trick-or-treating, a hay bale maze, a costume parade and “kiddie-oke”.
Howl-o-fest Boo Blast was held every Saturday and Sunday in October from 12pm-5pm at Carowinds. On October 24, 2009, WJZY and WMYT staff and volunteers braved rain in the morning and were onsite all day to make sure everyone had fun.

“I love to see the kids in their costumes and greet them as they come through our station tent for trick-or-treating,” said Account Executive Heather Strefezza.
Local Sales Manager Matt Livoti, added, “This is a great community event for our stations and our clients.” WJZY and WMYT handed candy to the ghouls and goblins as well as station cups and tattoos.
Regal Cinemas joined WJZY and WMYT onsite with movie posters, handouts and Regal Crown Club information.
