AWRT Comes to the Triangle!
American Women in Radio and Television, Inc. (“AWRT”) is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to advancing women in the electronic media and related fields. Established in 1951, AWRT has local chapters throughout the United States that promote AWRT’s mission:
“to advance the impact of women in the electronic media and allied fields, by educating, advocating and acting as a resource to its members and the industry.”
Capitol Broadcasting Company is a proud supporter of this organization, and has played a prominent role in helping to start the Triangle Chapter.
In March, the national AWRT chapter welcomed CBC President and CEO Jim Goodmon as a new honorary Trustee. CBC employees who are currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Triangle Chapter are:
