Hit Bull – Win $10,000 Promotion Kicks-Off Durham Bulls Single Game Ticket Sales |
The Durham Bulls kicked off the opening day sale of single game tickets with a unique promotion, Hit Bull – Win $10,000. The Durham Bulls rewarded the best fans in minor league baseball by allowing them to step onto the field and take a swing. The offer to win ten grand brought a steady parade of fans through the gates and onto the field to try their luck at hitting the icon made famous by the movie, Bull Durham.
Mix 101.5 personalities Bill and Schatzie helped to promote the event on their morning show and appeared at the DBAP Friday to record a couple of spots with hopeful fans. Personalities Diane Ramsey and Dave Sinclair also pitched in to help by promoting the event during their shows.
Hit Bull – Win $10,000 helped to spark ticket sales of 5,400, far surpassing the amount sold last year on the opening day of ticket sales. J. Andrew Curliss of the News & Observer said it best in his article on Friday, March 3, “The real prize Thursday was the dream of it all, the chance to stare down the famous smoke-snorting, tail-wagging bull, to dig in at home plate on a springlike day, to think of that one swing sending the white ball over the blue wall. The chance for $10,000”.
Spring and baseball are almost here and the Durham Bulls are gearing up for another great year at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Opening day is April 12th.
