The Ultimate Buddy System & New Hot Dogs To Be Served
MYRTLE BEACH, SC – – – The 2000 Myrtle Beach Pelicans season will once again feature the Ultimate California Pizza Baseball Buddies program during the pre-game festivities at all Pelicans home games. This program is an opportunity for boys and girls little league, youth softball and T-ball teams to take the field with Pelicans players at Coastal Federal Field before a Pelicans game.
Teams must sign-up at area Ultimate California Pizza restaurants. Once the selected teams have chosen a date that is in agreement with the Pelicans staff, the team is given 16 reserved seat tickets for that game. The children will be in uniform on the field prior to the game, their names will be announced on the public address system and the children will go to their position on the field. Then, the children will stand with the Pelicans players for the playing of the national anthem before returning to their seats to enjoy the game.
The Ultimate California Pizza restaurants are in three locations in Myrtle Beach (2500 North Kings Highway; Inside Sands Dunes Resort at Oceanfront 74th Avenue North; Inside Sands Beach Club at 9400 Shore Drive), one in North Myrtle Beach (11-F North Highway 17), one in Surfside Beach (1502 North Highway 17), one in Murrells Inlet (3962 Highway 17 Business) and one coming soon in Litchfield. For more information, please contact David Frost at 843-918-6009
Quotes David Frost, Pelicans Director of Promotions…”Once again, the Pelicans are very excited with Ultimate California Pizza in giving youth teams this opportunity. Last year, the response was overwhelming and we hope the program will be just as, if not more, successful this season.”
Nate Anderson, Co-Owner and Operator/Vice President of Ultimate California Pizza & Divine Dining…”This is an opportunity for us to reach out to the community and be a part of little league baseball. It’s a fun program because it enables these kids to be close to their favorite baseball players. We anticipate the program to be quite successful because we are getting an earlier start on it this year. Parents, their children and teams can come in to our restaurants, sign-up and enjoy some pizza.”
Berks Hot Dogs has been named the Official Hot Dog of Coastal Federal Field and the Myrtle Beach Pelicans for the 2000 season. Berks provides hot dogs for the Durham Bulls (Triple-A, International League) and Wilmington Blue Rocks (Single-A Advanced, Carolina League).
