Pelicans Host Hot Stove Reception

The Myrtle Beach Pelicans hosted a Hot Stove Reception on Wednesday, January 24, from 7:00-9:00pm at the Official All-Star Café in Myrtle Beach. More than 300 people attended the event.

Pelicans Manager Brian Snitker said a few words to the crowd.

Pelicans Pitching Coach Bruce Dal Canton (left) and Braves Director of Player Development Dick Balderson also participated in the event.

Former Major League Pitcher Tommy John entertained the crowd.

A silent auction featuring sports memorabilia resulted in approximately $3000 for the Youth Diamond Fund, the Pelicans primary charitable foundation. The Pelicans ticket department reaped benefits as well, having a handful of people re-new their season tickets and new season ticket holders were born.

Sports memorabilia went on the auction block to raise money for the Pelicans primary charity.

The guest speaker list included former Major League Pitcher Tommy John, New York Yankee great Bobby Richardson, Atlanta Braves Director of Player Development Dick Balderson, Pelicans Manager Brian Snitker, Pelicans Pitching Coach Bruce Dal Canton and Carolina League President John Hopkins. Pelicans Director of Media & Public Relations Bryan Dolgin emceed the event.

Everyone enjoyed complimentary heavy hors d’ouvres and $1 beverages. All season ticket holders and advertising clients received free admission; the general public could purchase tickets for $10.
