With Primary Date Set, WRAL To Begin Airing Candidate Opinion Spots 2002 Primary’s Candidates & Issues Forum |
With the scheduling of North Carolina’s primary elections for September 10, 2002, WRAL-TV is kicking off its Candidates & Issues forum. Seven of North Carolina’s candidates for the U.S. Senate stopped by the station in April to tape messages based on issues important to North Carolinians.
Using a forum on WRAL.com, visitors voted on the issues most important to them, and WRAL-TV anchor David Crabtree posed those questions to the candidates in the studio. The spots will now begin running during WRAL-TV and WRAZ-TV’s newscasts have already been showing on WRAL’s Newschannel. Capitol Broadcasting Company’s stations in Charlotte, WJZY-TV and WWWB-TV, and its Wilmington station, WILM-TV, as well as its radio station, WRAL-FM in Raleigh, will also air the spots. The spots can also be viewed online via WRAL.com.
