WRAL-TV To Host Noche Latina at Durham Bulls |
WRAL-TV is teaming up with the Durham Bulls and Que Pasa Spanish Language Newspaper and Radio to present “Noche Latina” at the ballpark on Wednesday, July 24, 2002. This first-ever Latino event will celebrate the Spanish-speaking baseball fans and the entire Hispanic Triangle community.
Live music, promotions and the crack of the bat as the Bulls take on the Pawtucket Red Sox, will especially cater to the Hispanic crowd.
“We have a lot of great events planned,” said Bulls Promotions Director Matt DeMargel. “The music will fit the theme both in the pre-game and during the game, we’ll announce some innings over the Public Address system in Spanish, have Spanish-speaking hosts at many of the stores and concession stands and after the game, fans will have a chance to take a swing and win a brand new car.”
The Bulls also made several other firsts for the Hispanic community this season. The Bulls produced a program schedule entirely in Spanish, and Que Pasa broadcast the first Bulls game ever to be announced in Spanish on its radio station WFTK-AM 1030 on Sunday, July 14, 2002, at 5:00pm.
