School Stuff Campaign Benefits Thousands of Area Students |
WRAL-TV recently worked with Communities in Schools to collect school supplies for area students in need. After the month-long campaign in August, WRAL-TV proudly passed on enough school supplies to serve nearly 5,000 students in a ten-county area in North Carolina.
Citizens brought donations of school supplies to area participants, including Golden Corral, UNC Healthcare, and Rex Healthcare.
The Communities in Schools program in these ten counties received supplies based on the number of students from low-income families. In addition, Communities in School of Wake County, the largest recipient of donated school supplies, after serving all of the identified schools in need, shared donated supplies with area non-profits and church groups such as the Salvation Army of Wake County.
Thanks to all WRAL-TV viewers who donated supplies for this worthy cause.
