Director Named For NCSU’s Nonprofit School
NCSU has named Barbara Metelsky, director of the Nonprofit Sector Resource Institute at Seton Hall University, as the director of the university’s efforts to launch an interdisciplinary certificate program in nonprofit management in the fall.
Metelsky will begin work on August 15, 2003, assessing the results of a survey conducted in the spring to create a strategy and mold the initiative’s work. In September she will work to determine the non-profit interests of NCSU’s faculty in order to involve them in the initiative. Eventually the program will offer a nonprofit master’s degree.
The AJFF recently committed to donate $1 million over four years for operating the program if NCSU can match those funds. The idea for the program came from AJFF Board Member Barbara Goodmon; she developed the concept in her master’s thesis at NCSU.
