WRAL Celebrates Success of 15th Coats for the Children Campaign |
WRAL-TV’s Coats for the Children campaign for 2003 wrapped up last weekend as over 45 volunteers got together to help sort the donated coats. Approximately 7,500 coats were sorted and bagged at Baker Roofing Warehouse, who donated their space, on Saturday, January 17, 2004.
Volunteers from the Healing Place, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and WRAL-TV’s Explorer Post 5 joined WRAL staffers at the Saturday morning sorting.
The 15th Annual Coats for the Children campaign included collection of new and gently used coats at Jiffy Lube and Chick-fil-A locations across the Triangle, as well as promotion and a telethon on WRAL-TV. The campaign ran from November 22 to December 31. The station raised $65,000 during the telethon on Friday, December 5.
Thanks to the many volunteers who helped during the coat sorting & telethon and to all WRAL viewers who contributed so generously.
