Last year’s third place American Idol contender Kimberley Locke stopped by WRAL-FM on Tuesday, April 6, 2004, while promoting her new album. One Love, which includes her new single “8th World Wonder” will be released on May 4th.
Locke chatted with WRAL-FM Personality Jim Kelly on tape, and he aired the interview the next afternoon in preview of the next American Idol vote-off show that evening. Locke said that she predicted John Peter Lewis may become the next American Idol, although he would not be her first choice. She fears that viewers are voting based on personality, not talent.
Locke also talked about roommate and last year’s AI runner-up Clay Aiken. Since Aiken hails from Raleigh, Locke says she always gets special treatment from his mom while she is here, including bar-be-que and sweet tea.
“It’s so great to be back in the South,” said Locke, herself a native of Tennessee.
