Wool E. Bull dispelled the myth that all ogres are mean when he invited new pal Shrek to the ballpark over Memorial Day weekend. The over-sized green monster visited the Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Sunday, May 30, 2004, to promote his new movie Shrek 2.
Shrek posed for photos with fans, performed during between inning promotions and signed autographs with the players after the game. He also did plenty of clowning around with Wool E. Bull.
The first 500 children at the ballpark received a free poster for Shrek 2. Then the crowd watched the Bulls defeat the Syracuse SkyChiefs 11-9.
