Pelicans 2004 Season Comes To A Close |
The Pelicans ended their 2004 season on their home field with a loss against the Kinston Indians. The Pelicans came out with a winning record of 75-63.
The last game of the Pelicans season made history as Indian pitcher Keith Ramsey pitched a perfect game, only the ninth perfect game in Carolina League history. The Indians took the game 6-0, despite the rain. The last time a 9-inning perfect game was thrown in the Carolina League was August 12, 1978.
2004 play is officially over for the Pelicans, and the team will not hit the mound again until next year. The Pelicans are tentatively scheduled to play the Charleston Riverdogs of the South Atlantic League in an exhibition game on April 5, 2005 at Coastal Federal Field.
