Goodmon Receives Honor from Duke University
CBC’s Jim Goodmon receives the Futrell Award at Duke University

On Tuesday, October 5, 2004, CBC President & CEO Jim Goodmon received the 2004 Futrell Award for Excellence in the field of Communication and Journalism.
In accepting the award, Goodmon spoke on media consolidation.
Duke University’s DeWitt Wallace Center for Communication and Journalism bestows the Futrell Award annually to a Duke Alumnus who has made contributions in the field of communications. The award was established in honor of Ashley B. Futrell Sr., publisher of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Washington (NC) Daily News.
