Microspace Adds WCPE to Client List |
Microspace Communications recently signed a five-year deal with WCPE, a Wake Forest classical music radio station. The deal will make the WCPE signal more accessible to satellite listeners nationwide.
WCPE will use Microspace’s satellites and technology to insure reliable delivery of its signal to listeners. The signal will be accessible to smaller (3 feet in diameter) satellite dishes rather than 6 to 8 foot satellites.
Earlier this year, Microspace partnered with the Christian Radio Consortium to deliver Christian-oriented programming to more than 1,000 radio stations across the country. In addition, Microspace renewed their agreement with long-time client Muzak. Muzak is the world’s largest provider of music programming for business applications and Microspace has provided satellite delivery of that programming since the late 80s.
Microspace VP/GM Joe Amor views radio as a growth area in its market. “Microspace started with audio broadcasting. While there is a lot of public interest and excitement with broadband data services, audio broadcasting remains a very solid foundation for our company. We are growing this with individual clients like WCPE, the Christian radio broadcasters and futuristic applications within HD radio. Stay tuned, you’ll be hearing more.”
