Bull River
Bull River runs through the heart of the American Tobacco Campus.

The past several months have seen tremendous progress at all ends of the American Tobacco Campus in downtown Durham.

Starbucks recently signed on to lease space on the campus. A new location of the coffee house franchise will occupy about 2,000 square feet in the Crowe Building, complete with outdoor seating. Starbucks hopes to open its full store in American Tobacco in early March 2005, but is already manning a kiosk to sell coffee concoctions to workers on the campus.

YMCA entrance
This area on the first floor of the Fowler Building surrounds the YMCA entrance.

The YMCA opened its satellite facility at the American Tobacco Campus in January 2005. The YMCA Wellness Center, and extension of the Downtown Durham YMCA, occupies 10,000 square feet in the Fowler Building. The center offers personal trainers, group fitness classes, cardiovascular and strength training equipment, and cycling classes. Durham YMCA members and Triangle YMCA members have full access to the Wellness Center at American Tobacco at no additional cost.

Thanks to Ben Casey & the American Tobacco District for these capcom photos.
