Duke Takes Freshman Class to Ballgame & American Tobacco

N&O Duke University is giving its freshman class a night on the town in their new city. This week Duke is taking the class of 1,734 to a Durham Bulls game and an evening at the American Tobacco campus.

News & Observer staff writer Anne Blythe chronicled the new “enhanced town-gown effort to help Duke students realize that a large, welcoming community exists beyond campus boundaries.” Her article “Duke to give freshman a treat” appeared in the City/State section of the N&O on Wednesday, August 17, 2005.
