Microspace Communications Launches New Expert Resource Network Top Subject Matter Authorities from Leading Universities Available to National News Outlets
|
What: Microspace has launched its new Expert Resource Network, available at www.microspace.com. The Network makes it possible for professors from top universities such as Wake Forest, Duke, East Carolina and several campuses of the University of North Carolina to be interviewed remotely by leading broadcast and cable networks seeking experts to comment on breaking news stories. The combination of Microspace and NCREN’s technology enables such individuals to appear on live news broadcasts across the country via remote satellite or fiber feeds
The Expert Resource Network is a time-saving and cost-efficient tool for news producers in media markets nationwide. By utilizing the on-line directory of hundreds of available experts, university studios, and NCREN’s connections to Microspace, the liveshot production process is greatly streamlined.
The service is offered in conjunction with the North Carolina Research and Education Network (NCREN), a service of the Microelectronics Center of North Carolina located in the Research Triangle Park. One of the nation’s most advanced research and education networks, NCREN provides high-speed Internet, video, audio, data and computing services to 180 locations at universities and other institutions.
When: The Network went live on October 18, 2005.
Where: News outlets across the nation, including existing customers such as Fox News, Bloomberg, CNN, ABC, and MSNBC can access the Network at www.microspace.com.
