It’s Official: WWWB Becomes WMYT Today
|
One of Capitol Broadcasting Company’s two Charlotte television stations is making a change today, Friday, April 28, 2006. WWWB-TV officially becomes WMYT-TV and will now be known as MY TV12.
The change comes as the network gets ready to make a change in network affiliations.
The UPN network, the affiliated network for CBC’s other Charlotte station, WJZY-TV, will merge with the WB network, the current affiliated network for WWWB-TV, in the fall to become the CW Network. WJZY will become the Queen City’s CW affiliate. WWWB-TV, now WMYT-TV, has been awarded an affiliation with FOX’s new primetime general entertainment network, MyNetworkTV.
WMYT-TV will begin carrying MyNetworkTV programming on September 5, 2006.
WMYT-TV will be on cable channel 12 on most systems in the 22-county Charlotte television market, including Time Warner Cable. It can also be received over-the-air on analog channel 55 and digital channel 39, and on the Direct TV and Dish Network satellite systems.
