The USA Baseball National Team will call the DBAP home for the 4th consecutive summer.
The Major League Baseball Draft just wrapped-up and once again USA Baseball alumni who have played at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park were at the top of the list. The #1 Overall Pick Luke Hochevar ( Tennessee) wore the red, white and blue at the DBAP during the 2004 season. In all, 7 of the First Round Picks played at the DBAP for USA Baseball.
Now, for the fourth consecutive summer, the USA Baseball National Team will call the DBAP home! The team has seven games on its summer schedule all in the month of July against some of the game’s top international talent.
This year’s team is being selected right now and the team trials include some of the ACC’s top talent including players from both NC State and North Carolina. After the selections are made, the team will be on the Road to the World Championships and we want to see you at the stadium.
The season opens on Saturday, July 8th against the Chinese Taipei Baseball Association. Two more games against Chinese Taipei are schedule for Sunday, July 9th and then a day game on Tuesday, July 11th. Free autographs will be available on the field from both teams on Saturday the 8th and remember Kids Run the Bases after the game on Sunday the 9th!
After a short break, Team USA will be back in the park with games against Korea July 21st, 22nd & 23rd and Japan on Tuesday, July 25th. Fireworks will light up the sky on after the game Friday the 21st and more free autographs will be available on Saturday the 22nd.
