Alexander Monotoyo Continues His Fight
|
The Bulls have set up a fund to help Manager Charlie Montoyo with the mounting bills for his young son Alex who has been in the hospital since his birth in October. |
As many of you know, Bulls Manager Charlie Montoyo and his family have been through a significant ordeal in the last four months following the birth of their son, Alexander, on October 17th. Alexander was born with Ebstein’s Anamoly, a heart defect in which the tricuspid valve is abnormally formed.
Since the first day of his life, Alexander has been breathing exclusively with the support of a ventilator. Montoyo and his family have been living in an apartment in Los Angeles for the past few months as Alexander has been treated at UCLA. Though the Montoyo’s have insurance, the bills they’ve incurred for Alexander’s treatment are staggering.
Over the past month, fans from around the country have been making donations to The Montoyo Fund to provide aid to the family. The Bulls are matching up to $10,000 in donations, but time is running out.
The Bulls will close the fund on Valentine’s Day, February 14th in order to get the money to the family as quickly as possible. If you would like to make a donation before the fund closes this Thursday, click here.
Thanks for your support of Montoyo and his family his email is cmontoyo@durhambulls.com if you’d like to send the family some words of encouragement during this challenging time..
