WRAL Gives Gubernatorial Candidates A Chance to Weigh in on Issues WRAL Candidates & Issues Forum – Primary 2008
|
As part of an ongoing commitment to improve the political process by creating a more informed electorate, Capitol Broadcasting Company will provide time for the six gubernatorial candidates prior to the 2008 primary election.
WRAL and CBC believe that issues are at the heart of the political process, so we’ve asked candidates to let you know where they stand on some of the most important issues facing our state.
Candidates were asked to address:
- The economy – what they would do as governor to keep North Carolina’s economy healthy should the current economic slowdown continue
- Transportation – address how they would handle traffic issues as governor while managing the need for continued growth.
- And their top three priorities – share the top three priorities they would address if elected governor of North Carolina
The six candidates for NC Governor on WRAL’s Candidates & Issues Forum are (in alphabetical order by party & name):
- Richard Moore
- Bev Perdue
- Bill Graham
- Pat McCrory
- Bob Orr
- Fred Smith
The messages will air during the WRAL daily newscasts at 6am on WRAL, 7am on FOX 50, WRAL’s Noon News, on WRAL at 6pm, at 10pm on FOX 50, and at 11pm on WRAL
The Candidates & Issues spots will begin with the 6am newscast on Thursday, April 3rd, and will run through Sunday, April 27th. The messages will also air on WJZY-TV in Charlotte, a CBC station, beginning April 7th.
