Tarheel Talk has featured many aspects of prostate cancer over the years, and Dr. James Smith, president of the Action Team, says the shows have been an excellent way to help educate the community. He commented that his organization has seen an increase in the number of local residents at their annual screenings as a result of the media coverage.
“Ms. Williams Harris has been a leader in the use of media to further the cause of reducing the morbidity and mortality of prostate cancer in black males here in North Carolina,” he said. “We thank Ms. Williams Harris, Fox50 and Capitol Broadcasting for their commitment to the community.”
