FOX 50 Sends Local Audition to Winner to Jersey for Shot at Idol
|
Raleigh’s Haven Sink won the FOX 50 Idol Audition & is heading to New Jersey for a shot at the show. |
Raleigh’s Haven Sink could be the next American Idol. The 22-year old nanny won FOX 50’s Idol Audition 2008 on Saturday, August 9, 2008, nabbing a trip to the Idol auditions in Las Vegas & a guaranteed spot before the producers.
Sink sung “Amazing Grace,” wowing the Triangle’s panel of four. Dave Rose of Deep South, Cy Young of Fox 107-104, singer/actress Heather Green and Performance Edge Executive Music Director Lisa Blair selected Sink from over 200 contestants. The judges scored on vocal quality & stage presence.
Hopefuls began lining up a midnight for the 10am start time. All 214 who registered got to sing, filling the mall with music til 4pm.
“This is one of the coolest events we do – tying into the biggest show on TV AND giving a local singer a real shot at getting on the show!” said FOX 50 Marketing & Promotion Manager Kevin Kolbe. “Kudos also to the FOX 50 team that work tirelessly to pull this off!”
Sink will travel to New Jersey for the national Idol audition next Tuesday, August 19th.
FOX 50’s sister CBC division MIX 101.5 helped sponsor the event. Stay tuned to FOX 50 for American Idol’s return in January!
