Beverly WatkinsMore about Beverly “Guitar Watkins
Beverly “Guitar” Watkins has been described as a rarity, a “pyrotechnic guitar maven”, who literally attacks the guitar. While she may have been born in 1940, she puts guitarists half her age to shame.

An Atlanta native, Watkins describes her style as “real Lightnin’ Hopkins lowdown blues… I would call that hard classic blues, hard stompin’ blues, you know… railroad smokin’ blues!”

The Venue
The American Tobacco Campus is arguably one of the top venues in the Triangle for enjoying an outdoor concert in an intimate and family-friendly atmosphere.  Ample parking and five fine eateries surround the lawn: Tyler’s Taproom, Symposium Café, Café Zen, Mellow Mushroom and Starbucks.  Outdoor seating  abounds and some restaurants  take their grills to the sidewalk, so food and beverages are only steps away.  Kids are welcome on the lawn where families can enjoy the Ole Bull River that runs through the middle of the campus.  As a courtesy to your neighbors, no dogs or coolers please.
