Beverly “Guitar” Watkins has been described as a rarity, a “pyrotechnic guitar maven”, who literally attacks the guitar. While she may have been born in 1940, she puts guitarists half her age to shame.
An Atlanta native, Watkins describes her style as “real Lightnin’ Hopkins lowdown blues… I would call that hard classic blues, hard stompin’ blues, you know… railroad smokin’ blues!”
