Microspace Digital Cinema Network Continues Exceeding Industry Growth Expectations

Leading Distributor of Digital Cinema via Satellite Adds 340 Theaters to Rapidly Growing Network
Microspace recently announced that it has expanded its network to more than 340 theaters and more than 3,500 screens across North America. Microspace now has the largest operational digital cinema network, ensuring the most cost effective digital cinema delivery method for studios.
Microspace has recently added commitments from new theater circuits including Allen Theaters, Mann Theaters, Marquee Cinemas and Ultrastar Cinemas to its existing circuits which include Carmike Cinemas, Celebration! Cinema, Cineplex Entertainment and Megaplex. Using its VELOCITY® satellite system, Microspace delivers feature films and alternative content to theatres across 22 other circuits.
The growth of the Microspace digital cinema delivery network has reached a milestone ensuring the most cost effective method of digital cinema delivery over competing satellite networks and alternative forms of delivery such as hard drives.
Microspace has now distributed 39 motion pictures to date from eight major motion picture studios, including the first 3-D movie and the first 4K movie via satellite, to theater circuits within the United States, Mexico and Canada. Microspace also delivers alternative content such as sporting events which included a college football game delivered live in High Definition to multiple theater locations and the delivery of a sporting event to over 150 Carmike theatres.
