On Saturday, March 28, 2009, MIX 101.5 held its 2nd Annual Lipstick Luncheon. The event took place at the Raleigh Marriott City Center in downtown Raleigh.
Over 550 women came out to enjoy a day of fashion, food and fun. Bill and Lynda from Bill & Lynda in the Morning emceed the event. The day benefited the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle’s BackPack Buddies Program which reaches out to kids who are on free or reduced lunch at school to provide them with meals over the weekend.
Bill and Lynda presented a check in the amount of $3,500 to the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle which was a combination of monetary donations from food drives and a portion of the ticket sales. MIX 101.5 also collected over 1,415 pounds of food during the four food drives that were held prior to Lipstick Luncheon for the Food Shuttle.

The luncheon’s theme is ‘living your best life at any age.’ Women of all ages attended to enjoy shopping, lunch, a guest speaker and a fashion show. The day also included an ‘Ask the Experts’ medical Q&A session with doctors from REX.
Attendees received a ‘swag bag’ full of goodies and had the opportunity to shop booths that included arts and crafts, jewelry, goodies for pets and more. The day concluded with a fashion show sponsored by Crabtree Valley Mall and was hosted by WRAL-FM’s Jim Kelly.
