Rick Dees Weekly Top 30 Countdown to Hit MIX’s Airwaves

One of radio’s most successful personalities is making a return to the Triangle air waves as MIX 101.5 welcomes Rick Dees and his Weekly Top 30 Countdown.
Dees was born in Florida, raised in Greensboro and graduated from UNC. In the early 70’s Rick worked at the former WKIX here in Raleigh. In the mid 70’s while serving as the morning host at WHBQ Memphis, Dees recorded the # 1 novelty song “Disco Duck” which sold over 6 million copies. Rick eventually moved his show to L.A. and served as morning host at KIIS-FM for over two decades.
Dees has won countless radio awards, is a member of the Radio Hall of Fame, appeared in both TV and movies and even has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Rick’s various countdown shows air across the U.S. and in 70 countries worldwide. You can hear the Rick Dees Weekly Top 30 Countdown from 7-10am every Saturday morning starting August 22, 2009 on MIX 101.5.
