The first Boost Your Business breakfast seminar draws a crowd. |
On Wednesday, September 16, 2009, WJZY and WMYT held their first Boost Your Business breakfast seminar at the Charlotte Southpark Marriott. The purpose of the quarterly seminars is to bring in a guest speaker to talk with business owners about ways to help grow their businesses.
“We are not selling anything, nor are we pitching TV marketing. This is a goodwill gesture for our best clients who want to improve their customer satisfaction rate,” said Account Executive Scott Vandivier.
John Formica, a professional speaker, coach and trainer, who worked in the Walt Disney organization for many years, spoke to the group about building client relationships that last. “Your customers are the most important people who will ever be inside your business,” said Formica.
The hour-long seminar focused on creating the “magic” in a business that will keep customers coming back. Formica talked about making sure you have the right people in the right roles in your organization…people with passion and great attitudes. He spoke at length about the Disney way of doing business. “You might be a dishwasher or pick up trash in a Disney theme park but your first purpose is to make people happy,” said Formica.
WJZY/WMYT client Doug Hipp with Bargain Max said, “This seminar was wonderful and next time I’d like to bring my whole management team.” Another client, Cindy Settle, said “It was great! He made us laugh and I really liked his energy.”
