MIX 101.5’s 3rd Annual Lipstick Luncheon took place this past Saturday on March 27, 2010, at the Marriott City Center in downtown Raleigh. The event featured shopping, a plated lunch, a keynote speaker, a medical Q&A session and a fashion show.

Nearly 600 women from the triangle were in attendance at the event which began at 10am and lasted until 3pm. Bill Jordan and Lynda Loveland of Bill and Lynda in the Morning hosted the event which was sponsored by Crabtree Valley Mall and REX Healthcare.

Lipstick LuncheonThis year’s keynote speaker Geralyn Lucas brought tears and laughter to the event. Lucas’s book, Why I Wore Lipstick to my Mastectomy, was later turned into a Lifetime Television Network movie. She shared her powerful story of beating breast cancer and honored other cancer survivors at the event.

“I was so proud of us (MIX staff) for the entire day!  I heard positive feedback all day long from listeners and clients, and certainly this was our best Lipstick Luncheon yet in terms of ticket and sponsorship sales,” commented WRAL-FM Local Sales Manager Katie Phillips.

A portion of the proceeds from this year’s Lipstick Luncheon benefitted The Healing Place of Wake County. The Healing Place of Wake County is a recovery and rehabilitation facility for homeless people with alcohol and drug dependency, located in Raleigh, NC.

The 4th Annual Lipstick Luncheon plans have already begun and MIX 101.5 hopes to make that event even more successful than this years.
