On Thursday, June 24, 2010, at LA LIVE in downtown Los Angeles, CA, three CBC television stations found out they’d won major national awards for their promotional spots. WJZY led the pack with the Gold Promax for a Program Promotional Spot featuring an office copier, while FOX 50 brought home three Silver Awards and two Bronze, and WRAL-TV secured two Silver Awards.
Promax is an international marketing organization and the highest marketing honor for a local station. Networks, international agencies, cable companies all compete. The award is very hard for a local station to win. How hard? Only 10 local stations won awards at the June 24th event. Ten North America! CBC owns 3 of the 10.
