On Saturday, October 16, 2010, Charlotte’s WJZY helped sponsor the hhgregg All Pro Dad Father and Kids Experience. The event took place on the Carolina Panthers Practice field and focused on fathers and kids bonding through football-themed stations and the importance of spending time together.
The event started with a special VIP Meet and Greet with Carolina Panthers Defensive Line Coach Brian Baker and Former NFL Alumni Steve Israel. Both gentleman addressed the group of 900 fathers and kids and spoke about the importance of being a dad. Afterwards, attendees rotated through stations learning important fatherhood tips and participating in football drills together. At the end the group gathered back together on the 50 yard line to award some awesome door prizes from the Carolina Panthers, Chick-fil-A, Wal-Mart and Charlotte’s WJZY.

Dads and Kids also had a chance to win a $25 gift card from hhgregg by taking their shot at kicking a field goal. It proved to be a bit harder than some folks had thought but many walked away with gift cards.
Charlotte’s WJZY was on site with fun giveaways and Angela Golden, Host of The Charlotte Buzz, served as emcee for the event with Carolina Panthers Mascot Sir Purr!
