Bulls Let Facebook Fans Determine Holiday Donation Amount |
In a move to boost their social media following while supporting a worthy cause in the Bull City, the Durham Bulls have announced plans to donate $1 to the Durham Literacy Center for every new fan who joins the team’s official facebook page from now until December 25th.
“It’s kind of our own 12 days of Christmas,” Durham Bulls General Manager Mike Birling said, “We have tremendous fan support and are confident our current Facebook fans will spread the word to their friends to support this great cause.”
The Bulls currently have just over 9,600 fans, but through social media sharing features on both their facebook page and website, they believe they can attract a number of new followers to support this cause.
“I don’t know if there has ever been an easier way for our fans to help us support a local charity,” Birling continued. “Just click a button to become a fan of the Durham Bulls and you increase the donation to the Durham Literacy Center.”
The Durham Literacy Center (DLC) works to assist Durham County teenagers and adults achieve personal goals and experience positive life change through increased literacy.
