Centerplate, the largest hospitality partner to North America’s premier sports stadiums, convention centers and entertainment venues, has announced a series of new menu concepts, facility improvements and service enhancements for the Durham Bulls 2011 Season at Durham Bulls Athletic Field.
“Centerplate’s outstanding food offerings continue to be a primary reason people come to Durham Bulls games,” Bulls General Manager Mike Birling said, “Our fans will love the new food additions and with 48 different varieties of beer we have a selection which is second to none in Minor League Baseball.”
Menu Highlights
Durham Bulls fans will have several new menu offerings to enjoy this season including:
Chipstix: A full ribbon cut potato, fried and served on a skewer with choices of seasonings including BBQ, Garlic Butter and Cheddar Cheese, the “ultimate fried potato with a twist”
Wings Around the World: hand shaken and prepared to order with an extensive assortment of sauces, including Traditional Buffalo, Barbeque and Sweet Red Chili
Walking Taco: seasoned ground beef, lettuce, tomato, cheese and jalapeno peppers all served inside a bag of Doritos, Doritos with a kick!
Spicy Fried Pickles: Crisp pickles with premium beer batter and spicy seasoning for a hearty and robust flavor fans will love
Morning Star Veggie Sausage: Vegetarian Italian Sausage with peppers and onions
Centerplate and the Durham Bulls held a ‘Clash of the Concessions Contest’ where fans could submit an idea for the new concessions item at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The best submissions were available for sampling at Durham Bulls Fanfest held on March 4th & 5th at the park giving the fans an opportunity to vote for their favorite. The winning new food item is called the Bull Dog: all beef hot dog wrapped in bacon and cheese then baked in pretzel dough.
Guest Service Enhancements
To complement its culinary additions, the company has also initiated a series of enhancements to its service training and experience assurance initiatives. Centerplate’s training program, which has been completely revamped and re-launched for this season as Centerplate University, is based on a series of training sessions that reinforces the principles and behaviors of gracious guest service for a better fan experience.
