The Great American Tobacco Duck Race will be a central fixture of the FOX 50 Family Fest this Saturday, October 1st. The rubber duck rally will benefit three Triangle charities, including race mainstay the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.
Capcom has been providing information about all three non-profits, which also include Explorer Post 50 and Durham Literacy Center. Today we post the final feature in the trio.
The Inter-Faith Food Shuttle (IFFS) is the innovative leader in pioneering solutions to address the problems of hunger and food insecurity in the Greater Triangle. From the BackPack Buddies providing food to low-income children over the weekend, to perishable food recovery from grocery and big box stores, and nutrition education programs, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is creating a hunger-free community.
About the Race
The Duck activities get underway at 3:30pm with a Duck Decorating Contest, followed by the Duck Race at 4pm and concludes at 5pm with an awards ceremony. K97.5 DJ and B-Spot host Brian Dawson will join WRAL-TV Meteorologist Mike Maze to judge the Duck Decorating contest and emcee the Duck Race.
Individual and Corporate Ducks can be purchased directly from each non-profit. The Great American Tobacco Duck Race, now in its 5th year has generated over $100,000 collectively for area non-profits.
