Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski just surpassed his college coach, Bob Knight, for the most wins by a Division 1 Men’s Basketball coach.
What did it take to reach 903 wins? That’s the focus of The Journey to 903: A WRAL News Special, airing Thurs, Nov 17th at 7pm.
It took talented players and a coach who knew how to mold them into an unselfish team with championships and Final Four trips their top priority. With vintage video and interviews, WRAL will take you from the hiring of Coach K in 1980, the struggles it took to succeed and finally reach win #903.
In a one-on-one interview with Jeff Gravley, Coach K shares the top 5 moments in his career that paved the way to the top of the coaching wins list. He also discusses his childhood days in Chicago when at the age of 7, Krzyzewski was organizing neighborhood teams, games and rules. Leadership was planted and has continued to grown.
