Barton College in Wilson has a new digital media lab, thanks to Capitol Broadcasting Company and WRAL.com.
CBC made a significant gift to Barton’s Mass Communications Department. The gift funded 18 new digital editing workstations, along with upgrading 4 digital editors. The equipment and software upgrades include new Mac computers and Final Cut Pro software for Barton’s Broadcast/Video Production program
CBC President & CEO, Jim Goodmon, WRAL.com General Manager John Conway, and other CBC guests including WRAL-TV Director of Local Production Phyllis Parish and WRAL-TV/Corporate Community Relations Director Loretta Harper-Arnold, visited Barton on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, and toured the new WRAL.com Media Lab. Students enjoyed showing off their video editing to their CBC guests.
Parish is on the Board of Trustees at Barton.
Thanks to WRAL-TV’s Phyllis Parish for this capcom story and to Barton College’s Keith Tew & WRAL-TV’s Anita Normanly for these capcom photos.
