Cooperatives from across North Carolina are joining together to show us just how much we can accomplish when we come together to create a Co-Op-A-Fair! The latest event takes over the Diamond View Park next to American Tobacco in downtown Durham on Saturday, June 2, 2012, from 11am to 3pm.
Join local electricity, telephone and food coops, as well as credit unions and volunteer organizations and discover just how much your involvement in the Durham community can count. The North Carolina Credit Union League’s Team Little Guy will be riding 366 miles across eastern and central North Carolina from May 29th to June 3rd to raise money for Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, NC and Greenville Health Systems Children’s Hospital (SC).
And while you’re learning about good work, you can also check out the GIANT SHOPPING CART (straight from the State Fair!), or bound around in the bouncy house, find your way through a life-size maze, take a Zumba class, or do some on-site volunteering by helping to clean up the East Coast Greenway.
And don’t worry – Cabot cheese will be on hand as usual and Cabot’s master chef Jimmy Kennedy will send you home with a happy belly as you sample his delicious Cheddar S’mores and Jimmy’s special Carolina Shrimp & Cheddar Grits.
