                  WRAL  Producer/Director Clarence Williams may just be a “Spectacular” man.
         Williams is among  24 men nominated by Durham-based Spectacular Magazine for the publication’s Man  of the Year award.          An online voting process will determine eight winners in six  categories, and they will be announced during a banquet June 13, 2013.
Williams is one of  six nominees in the category of community service. The other categories are  business and economic development, civil and human rights, education, health  and emerging leader.       
Williams, who has worked at WRAL for 46 years, volunteers with numerous  organizations including the Interfaith Food Shuttle, Explorer scouts, Learning  For Life programs that teach job skills and Catholic Prison Ministries. He also  teaches nonprofit organizations how to develop and produce community television  programs to advocate for their causes.
Williams is an  adjunct instructor of broadcast journalism at Shaw University and St.  Augustine’s University. He’s also a former Army Ranger and Vietnam veteran.
“I’m deeply humbled  for the honor, especially considering the caliber of the nominees,” Williams  said.
