FOX 50’s Tarheel Talk Guest Up for National Book Award |

Teresa Willis, a guest on FOX 50’s TARHEEL TALK, is a finalist for the 2013 Phyllis Wheatley Award .Her book “Like A Tree Without Roots” is among five children’s book up for consideration. She is competing against such notable authors like , Kareem Abdula -Jabbar ” What Color My World? “and Wynton Marsalis’s “Squeak! Whomp! Whomp! Whomp!”
The QBR Wheatley Book Awards recognizes the best African American books and writers in Fiction, Nonfiction, Poetry and Children’s books. This national award ceremony with be held in New York later this month, as a part of the annual Harlem Book Fair at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture.
Tarheel Talk airs on FOX 50 on Sundays at 6:30am.
