WRAL-TV staffers get a winter weather briefing from Meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner.

WRAL-TV Creative Services Shelly Leslie gave WRAL viewers and fans across the Internet a behind-the-scenes view of the myriad ways the Big 5 covered the winter storm that hit our viewing area during the second week of February 2014.  Quickly dubbed “Snowmageddon,” the storm dumped inches of snow and ice around the Triangle causing traffic gridlock as workers tried to get home.  WRAL-TV immediately leapt into action, keeping viewers updated on traffic and weather conditions.
