WRAL Corn Desk
WRAL Corn Desk at the 2014 North Carolina State Fair.

First there was the IceDesk, then came the SandDesk…

Now introducing…the WRAL CornDesk!

The brainchild of the WRAL creative team was unveiled for the North Carolina State Fair. WRAL Lead Designer Steve Loyd came up with the architectural wonder. Local artist Peter Ruocchio built it.

Guests in the WRAL State Fair tent are invited to take photos behind the desk with professional lighting courtesy of Tar Heel Traveler photojournalist Robert Meikle. Guests can continue the corny fun online by guessing how many ears of corn were used to make the desk. The winner will be invited to the WRAL studios for a VIP tour. CBC employees aren’t eligible to win, but tell your friends they can enter by going to WRAL.com and searching: CORNY FUN.

Like it’s brethren that came before, you can find the CornDesk on Facebook and twitter. Corny jokes and posts with a kernel of humor provided by WRAL Social Media Manager Wendy Gatlin. Please “like” and “follow” to make this seasonal art the “stalk” of the town!
