CBC President & CEO Jim Goodmon and his wife, Barbara, were recently honored by the Triangle Community Foundation with as the inaugural winners of its Catalyst Award.  The new award recognizes visionary philanthropy, and the organization chose the Goodmons as their first recipients.

In presenting the Catalyst Award, the TCF said:

Catalyst Award Winners Barbara and Jim Goodmon have been fundholders at Triangle Community Foundation since 1999.  Their contributions have been broad and formative, and they helped secure the Foundation’s growth at a critical juncture over the last decade.  Jim and Barbara are also noted for the emphasis they put on the role regionalism plays overall in the success of the Triangle – a role they honor and recognize through business decisions, their reach into the nonprofit community and through their philanthropic work.

The award presentation took place as part of the 2016 What Matters Community Luncheon on Wednesday, April 27th.

“We presented philanthropic awards, honoring two couples have shaped our Foundation, our region, and have created a legacy for the future,” reported the TCF.

Alongside the Goodmons, community leaders Julia and Frank Daniels were honored with the TCF’s first Legacy Award, a lifetime achievement honor.

The 2016 What Matters Community Luncheon focused on “A Region of Opportunity.”  The annual event “inspires people from all sectors in our Triangle region to learn about and address key community issues together.”

The event took place at the Raleigh Convention Center.
