American Tobacco celebrated their honey harvest, and the anticipated opening of The Bullpen, with their tenants on Thursday, November 10, 2016. A Taste of Honey took place from 4-6pm at The Bullpen.
Tenants could sample over 10 honeys from around North Carolina, including honey produced on the American Tobacco rooftops.
Bull Durham Beer Co. brewed a special Honey Ale just for the event. And Heavenly Buffaloes cooked up some special wings worthy of a Queen Bee. And to make the beer and wings go down a little sweeter, the Music Maker Relief Foundation partnered with the event to provide blues music.
Over 150 American Tobacco tenants attended and went home with a souvenir pint glass. The guests also posed for snapshots in a photo booth decked out with a honey/hive background. Check out the Tap Snap pix: https://tapsnap1120.smugmug.com/2016-A-Taste-of-Honey-American/
In the summer of 2014, American Tobacco became home to several rooftop beehives. Soon an enclosed observation hive was added out front of the Burts Bees headquarters on the campus. To learn more about the American Tobacco hives, visit BeeDowntown.org.
The Bullpen is a new restaurant created by Bull Durham Beer Co., the first brewery in America to operate in a Minor League baseball stadium. The restaurant will offer lunch and dinner provided by Durham’s own Heavenly Buffaloes and live music programmed by the Music Maker Relief Foundation. Located in American Tobacco’s Diamond View III, The Bullpen will be the place to find the Bull Durham Brewing Co. beers year round.
