Connections to FolkAmerican Tobacco recently unveiled a new art exhibit, “Connections to Folk.”  The artworks in this collection contain both traditional examples of folk art and contemporary practices directly inspired by folk art from the CBC collection.

“Connections to Folk” opened on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, and will be on display through November 10th. The collection can be viewed in the Reed Lobby Art Gallery beginning at 9am each day.  The exhibition is free and open to the public.

Many of the works displayed can be understood as documented representations of cultural display, others are based from experiences derived from what a possible definition of folk art is in contemporary art today.
