The list of Hurricanes wreaking havoc on the United States and Caribbean islands during the past few weeks has been staggering, as has the devastation and need left in their wakes.  To help, WRAL-TV and the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC got together for a ‘food-raising’ drive for those affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.  Food donations and cleaning supplies were collected at various locations on Wednesday September 20, 2017, including several Capitol Broadcasting divisions, American Tobacco in Durham and Rocky Mount Mills in Rocky Mount.

Once again WRAL-TV viewers came through in a big way, donated 42,000 pounds of food and other needed supplies.  That’s a total of 21 tons contributed.  And that’s before the totals from Rocky Mount Mills, which continued collecting donations through the weekend.

Thanks to all the WRAL-TV viewers who so kindly contributed to help our neighbors to the south.  We appreciate you!

Thanks to ATC’s Valerie Ward for these capcom photos.
