Father’s Day, Bark in the Park, $1 Concessions Also Scheduled
The Durham Bulls open a six-game homestand on June 12 at the DBAP against the Charlotte Knights and Gwinnett Stripers. The 30th anniversary celebration of the movie ‘Bull Durham,’ Bark in the Park, Father’s Day and $1 Concessions highlight the event schedule.
The homestand opens on Tuesday, June 12 at 7:05 p.m. against the Charlotte Knights with Medical Professionals Night presented by WGU North Carolina, as the first 200 medical professionals to purchase a ticket using the code WGU will receive a cobranded Bulls and WGU scrub top and $5 in Bulls Bucks.
Durham and Charlotte square off again at 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13 with a Bark in the Park event, presented by Banfield Pet Hospital. That night fans are able to bring their dogs to the DBAP, with human tickets costing $7.99 plus tax and canine tickets costing $5 plus tax, with all proceeds benefiting Second Chance Pet Adoptions. Prior to the game, fans are encouraged to bring their furry friend on the field for a pregame dog parade, which will begin at 6:20 p.m.
The homestand continues against the Gwinnett Stripers at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, and that night’s contest features $1 Concessions, as Bright Leaf hot dogs, Pepsi products and popcorn are just a buck all evening long. Thursday’s game is also Swim Night presented by North Carolina Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat, which will feature a pregame Swim Night parade on the field.
On Friday, June 15 the Bulls and Atlanta Braves’ Triple-A affiliate meet at 7:05 p.m., as the DBAP celebrates the 30th anniversary of the film ‘Bull Durham.’ The team will wear special throwback uniforms for the event which are available for auction, with all proceeds benefiting the Autism Society of North Carolina. Additionally the film’s writer/director Ron Shelton will be on-hand and take part in a Q&A following the game, which will precede a Friday Night Fireworks show presented by bioMerieux. Fans can also purchase the Bull Durham Pints Pack for the contest, which offers fans a ticket and two beer vouchers for $19.88, coinciding with the year the movie was released.
The Bulls and Stripers meet again at 6:35 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, with the evening’s game followed by a fireworks show presented by JT’s Landscaping.
The homestand closes against Gwinnett at 5:05 p.m. on Sunday, June 17 presented by GKN Driveline. That evening the Bulls will celebrate Father’s Day with a pregame catch on the field from 4 p.m. to 4:20 p.m., and following the contest Kids and Dads Run the Bases presented by Nature’s Twist.
