Paid attendance totals 35,052 over weekend series

Durham Bulls record attendanceThe Durham Bulls hosted a record-breaking three-game series from June 14 through June 16, as the team announced a paid attendance of 35,052 fans over the set. The Bulls set a single-game paid attendance record on Saturday, June 15 when they announced a crowd of 12,000, while Sunday’s crowd of 11,769 is the fourth-best in franchise history, and Friday’s crowd of 11,283 is the 12th-best.

The weekend – which featured Lollygagger Night, two fireworks shows, a Meet the Bulls event and Father’s Day – was capped by rehab appearances by Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton of the New York Yankees. Durham, which has the best record in the International League, took 2-of-3 from the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders and held Judge and Stanton to a combined 2-for-23 performance with 13 strikeouts.

“This was a great weekend of baseball at the DBAP,” Durham Bulls Vice President Mike Birling said. “Seeing the passion our fans have for baseball was a lot of fun, and seeing us win two out of three was fun, too. We look forward to seeing everyone come back to the DBAP over the next few months to help us claim a third straight championship.”

Over the three-game stretch the team sold over 1,000 pounds of Bright Leaf hot dogs, 3,200 gallons of beer, and 2,700 gallons of soda and water. Further, the Ballpark Corner Store sold 2,273 t-shirts, 2,104 hats and 280 Lollygaggers t-shirts. Over the course of the three days, the team garnered over 1.6 million impressions combined between Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
