Radio+Television Business Report has named CBC President & COO Jimmy Goodmon to the publication’s Broadcast Television’s Best Business Leaders of 2022. A feature about Goodmon appeared in the Spring 2022 edition of the publication.
“For the fourth consecutive year, nominations made by RBR+TVBR readers — in other words, people who know the television industry from the inside — fueled staff research and editorial evaluation in shaping our rankings, which began in 2020,” explained the article about the leaders.
Goodmon made the short list of 15 for the first time this year.
He talked to RBR+TVBR about a variety of topics from broadcasting in 4K HD to NEXTGEN TV, datacasting and more. He also addressed Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
“All levels of a broadcast TV organization should reflect the diversity represented in the communities we serve,” he told RBR+TVBR. “One risk of not doing that is that we could miss tremendous business opportunities simply because we may not be thinking the way our customers think. Beyond the business imperative, though, is the moral imperative. Diversity, equity, and inclusion needs to be measured, discussed, prioritized, and part of an ongoing mission. The importance of DEI initiatives cannot be overstated and must become standard.”
