Watch Teeny Tiny Turtles Race at Rocky Mount Mills

Teeny Tiny Turtles on the Tar at Rocky Mount Mills

The teeny tiny turtles are returning to Rocky Mount Mills on Saturday, July 30, 2022, in the 3rd annual event benefitting the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tar River Region.  All 2,000 turtles have now been adopted, but everyone is invited to come watch the turtles race to the finish line at Rocky Mount Mills.

The Teeny Tiny Turtles on the Tar event will kick off at 10am when the tiny rubber turtles will be dropped into the water from the Peachtree Street Bridge on the Rocky Mount Mills campus.  The first three turtles to cross the finish line will win cash prizes for their adopters.

“This isn’t just a race with 2,000 rubber turtles trying to make it to the finish line,” said race organizers, “it’s a race where our most precious and vulnerable commodities: our children, our future, are trying to make it over the line in a race fraught with hurdles.”

Rocky Mount Mills is a proud contributor to the event.

Come watch in person.  Or tune in as the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tar River Region stream the event live on Facebook.
